I was lucky enough to have met Dennis in high school, when I was at Marlborough and he was at Harvard.I can’t remember when we first met-it just seemed as though he was always around…spending time with my friends Susie Bullock and Leslie Kenyon…at every prom and party (he was even my date at a winter prom–I am still searching for the picture I have from that night.Dennis had said something funny -as usual-and we are hysterical with laughter-the picture of youthful, carefree hilarity).
We remained friends throughout the years, despite my manyyears away from LA.Among many good times, the most precious time we spent was a time when I had moved back with my son,Eric, who has special needs.Dennis was fearless when it came to Eric-so sensitive and generous hearted with him. There were people in my life then who were uncomfortable with being around Eric…. but Dennis was not one of them. He brought his inimitable sense of humor and compassion to the situation and just embraced Eric as though whatever he did was just fine.I am profoundly sorry that I never had the chance to tell him how very much that meant to me .Dennis ,you are one of a kind and you will be deeply missed.
