I met Dennis Lynn via my good friend Dave Allen. Dave and I would regulary frequent many of the resturants and clubs that Dennis worked at starting with the Casa Del Mar and then onto the Wilshire both in Santa Monica. When my friend Dave Allen moved in with Dennis as a roomate, I got the chance to spend many nights and some days at the Lynn household in Brentwood. Later another friend Lee Patteson also moved in with Dennis, so there was a household of us Brits. Dennis was such a good host and an excellent conversationalist. He shared his time, his place – many great barbeques and also his friends which were always interesting and varied. After I got married in 2007, I lost contact with Dennis for the most part but kept in touch via others. Although Dennis was on Facebook, he never seemed to actually use it as a tool to keep in touch so that avenue was not so helpful in keeping fire going. I was devastated to hear from Dave Allen only several days prior to Dennis’ passing how sick he was. It was a tremendous blow as Dennis always seemed so up and appearingly healthy. However it was not to be and we now mourn the passing. Perhaps if I had to pick one of my greatest memories it would be his 50th birthday party. We had such a good time and the house was Rocking 🙂 Happy Days – As is inscribed on the marker for a close relative of mine “To live in hearts we leave behind, is not to die” Always remembered and never forgotten
